FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all your products Australian Made?

Yes! All of our products are 100% made in Australia, right here in our factory in Sydney!

What type of file do I need to supply for printing?

What printing options do you offer?

We can print our products in a number of ways;

Foil Printing –

When foil printing a product, we use a metal stamping block and a foil ribbon to stamp the image onto the product. Foils come in a range of metallic and colours.

Blind Deboss –

To produce a “Blind Deboss” we use a metal stamping block with a good amount of pressure and stamp direct to the product to leave behind an impression. As no colour is used it is a softer effect than Foil Printing, but does create a more tactile image.

Screen Printing – PMS Colours

Screen Printing refers to printing your design onto a flat surface using a mesh screen, ink and squeegee. Screen printing is more suited for displaying solid rich PMS colours and Spot Clear UV prints, it delivers a thick ink deposit giving a better colour opacity than digital print. When printing more than one colour, the colours must be applied in individual layers.

Screen Printing – Clear UV

Spot UV is screen printed in the same way as the colours above. Clear UV can be added to highlight parts of your design, or used on its own to create a unique print.

Ring Fittings - How do I work out what size I need?

To work out the size and type of fitting you require you will first need to know the thickness of all the pages/content you wish to place into your binder. Gather all your content together and measure it with a ruler, we suggest you go a little larger than the total thickness of your content to allow for growth.

Existing Ring Binder – If you have a sample you can measure the Capacity of a ring fitting as follows;

D Ring – Measure from the top of the base plate of the fitting, up the flat part of the fitting to inside the top of the fitting.

O Ring – Measure across the fitting inside to inside of the O ring.

See below image to show how to measure fittings:
O ring

Ring Fittings – What is the difference between a “D” Ring and an “O” Ring.

O Rings are mostly fitted to the spine and have less bulk, so less intrusive looking. The fitting does move each time the cover is opened, this means the pages move more than they would in a D ring fitting.

D Rings are fitted to the back cover of a ring binder, this creates less wear on the contents as the ring binder can be opened and the contents are not worked so less wear and tear on the paper parts.
